FISH FISH FISH

And more fish.

Happily, I woke up this morning and it wasn't just a dream; I was at Cocoa Island in the Maldives living in a hut in the middle of the Indian ocean.  Good.

Turns out the breakfasts are awesome and I can't say I'm surprised after last night's ridiculously tasty dinner (I would post photos but it's so dark out on the restaurant decking that even Photoshop wouldn't do it justice).  I wasn't too hungry so I was a good girl and went for a 2 egg white omelette (with a big cake thing and yoghurt, but ignore that).  Alex had the french toast which was a real treat.  Looks a bit like mackerel in this photo but ignore that too.

Most of the morning and early afternoon was spent doing very lazy things like laying in the sun, blowing up lilos, listening to 80's music on the Jam Box and paddling in the ocean.

At 3pm, we were taken out on a catamaran to do some snorkeling.

Here's our man, Ziggy!

I've done snorkeling a few times in my life but this was the best I've experienced because even though we were right out into the sea, there are areas that are very shallow and the coral is really close to you.  Which means fish galore!  And courtesy of my new underwater camera, here is some of what we saw:

And we saw a turtle!  I love turtles!  Ziggy dived down to take this one for me

Bloody brilliant.

What a lovely experience to have.  We're still considering doing the scuba diving but I'm wondering if we should use our time doing something a bit different as I feel like I've had such a good look at the ocean life already.  We will see....

In the meantime, here's our resident crab, Corey.  I'll miss him when we go.
