Festival Style

I can't tell you how excited I am about Glastonbury this year. I haven't been there since 2009. It was Worthy Farm's year off last year and in 2010 and 2011 I could barely watch the highlights on the television because I was so sad that I wasn't there.

But 2013 is the year of my return to the music, mayhem and, most likely, mud.

Typically of me, I'm already planning my outfits. A few might say it's a silly idea to plan so early on as so much depends upon the weather.

But this isn't really true as long as you have:

1. Wellies
2. A waterproof jacket
3. Something snug and warm

Then you're pretty much covered. Anything in between is up for interpretation!

I love festival chic. The long fringed waistcoats, little shorts, socks under wellies, face paint and floral hairbands.

If there's one place where pretty much anything goes then it's Glastonbury. The dressed-down appearance of wellies and boots mean you can go a little more skimpy than you usually would - little shorts, bikini tops and bare midriffs - without it being too much. Or you can choose to cover up more with colourful jeans, long socks, maxi skirts and trendy waterproofs.

I don't have much left to buy for Glastonbury really. I already have more than enough tops and shorts to combine. But I have bought a couple of treats...

1. Sable Striped Shorts from French Connection, £95
2. Yellow Raincoat from Petit Bateau, £126.50
3. Parisian White Fringe Waistcoat from New Look, £22.99

These are some cute floral hairbands I have my eye on from Asos Marketplace.

And finally...wellies! Still to buy! And I need your help.

Here is a shortlist of my favourite few:
Which pair do you like the most?

  1. Ahh I cannot wait for Glastonbury! I have never been before and this is my first year, so I can barely contain my excitement - I am even making my boyfriend drive us there either the night before or at an ungodly hour before the gates even open!

I absolutely love festivals. The clothes, the face paint, the flower garlands, and how happy everyone is, even if it is muddy!

Don't worry, you're not the only one who has mentally packed aleady, I'm right there with ya!

    1. Brilliant! You're going to love it! Even if the weather is rubbish there is still so much to do, so many tents to dance in (silent disco!), entertainment to see, amazing food to eat. And cider to drink, of course.

You did well to get tickets - lots of regulars I know couldn't get them this year.

      So excited!

  3. Love love love Glastonbury. I grew up only a couple of miles away from the festival site so it has always had a special place in my heart :)

My favourite boots are the Joules ones with the bows on the back. So pretty!

  4. Ah great post. You've got me all excited about summer (unfortunately I'm not going to Glasto this year - sob, sob). I've already bought loads of clothes for my festivals. I would go for the polka wellies...
