One Blenheim Place and their Deep Fried Oreos

This isn't going to be the most exciting post I've ever done. It was just a nice last minute lunch with Alex last Saturday after a visit to a friend's house to coo over their newborn baby. But when there is something as terribly naughty as deep fried Oreo's involved, I just had to post it!

Fellow blogger and food appreciator Mark mentioned One Blenheim Place to me. It's a bright and intimate little restaurant in a posh bit of St John's Wood.

They had a brunch and an A La Carte menu to choose from. Both were surprisingly retro rather than pretentious - Seafood Cocktail, Spaghetti Arrabiata, Sausage and Mash.

Lots of people were drinking champagne (not sure why...was it free?) but we had an Oreo milkshake instead; our childish side got the better of us!

Here was my mushroom spaghetti dish.

It was gorgeous and creamy and you could tell how fresh the mushrooms were. It was also the biggest plate of pasta I had ever been presented with in my entire life! There definitely isn't a portion size issue at this restaurant...

And here was the highlight. Look at these little babies! They had to be sampled.

Yes, they were delicious. How could they not be? It's basically an Oreo in a doughnut! With creamy vanilla ice cream!

Although we had a lovely lunch, I came away feeling thoroughly sick. Milkshake, creamy pasta and deep fried Oreos - I definitely didn't think that one through. What am I, 8 years old?

Excluding Wednesday when I have afternoon tea booked, I am now on the pre-holiday week long 'Healthy Atkins Bikini Diet' that my personal trainer Sarah gave me.

I'll tell you about that later.

    1. Oh really? Somewhere different or the same place? I'd not experienced them before but worth it...perhaps not as part of a balanced diet :)
