Three Go To Vegas - Part 1

Yes, I'm back!

I've mentioned before that Vegas is one of my favourite places. It's ridiculously fun, full of glamour, has amazing food, great customer service and great weather most of the year round. I also feel very safe going out there which is pretty important when you're holidaying with the girls.

It was 3rd July - Mary, Tina and I were off! We'd booked it over a year in advance so it'd been a long time coming and we were so damn excited!

Here we are with the Heathrow Airport Horse!

And the plane

We arrived around 7pm and it was still 44C! We were aware Nevada had recently had a heatwave but I'm not used to an evening temperature like that - it was quite a shock to the system. Thank goodness for Vegas air con!

Sticking with past tradition, Mary had organised a limo complete with champagne to take us to our hotel.

Back in Vegas. Love it.

It was our second stay at Aria. Such a beautiful hotel.

Ah, the all familiar slot machines.

I'm a terrible gambler. If I win anything - however small - I walk away. If I lose, I think "this is crap" and I walk away. I probably gambled no more than $30 this trip. Lost it all of course.

On our first evening, we had just enough time for a nap and a shower before heading out on The Strip to the new Act nightclub at the Palazzo hotel. We were supposed to see Will.i.am at Surrender but the queue was ridiculous!

For risk of misplacing it, my camera stayed in the room (I don't have a good track record for losing things in Vegas, especially on night one!).

But here is my first night dress from Lipsy and The Strip looking amazing at night.

Our first day in Vegas. I gathered we would still be feeling pretty fresh at this stage so I booked us a cabana at the Tao Beach pool party at The Venetian.

Tao Beach is smaller than most of the other Vegas pool parties but it is very cool with gorgeous cabanas, DJs spinning for the crowds and great food. Really friendly staff too.

It was 4th July and my bikini was chosen accordingly (just a cheapy off Ebay!)

We settled on our comfy loungers which luckily gave us the option of shade; in 45C heat and with fair skin, this was a bit important if we didn't want to be burned to a crisp.

Lunch was ordered - udon noodle salad, sweet potato fries and edamame for me and hot dogs for Mary and Tines. Yum!

Along with a Tao cocktail!

We had a fantastic day dancing, lounging, cooling down in the pool and sipping champagne (well, we did had a minimum spend to reach!)

There were a few interruptions. Tina sorted this annoying one out! Go girl!

Nope, not a vicious attack; just an ice-cube to the face after this English lad tried to put one down her bikini top. Well deserved, we all thought!

We had so much fun!

Drinking champagne in the blazing hot sun can be a little fatiguing, however, and we only managed to stay up until 3am that night. Must do better! ;)

  1. Glad to hear that you had an awesome time! Living off Champagne all holiday sounds good to me :)

Not sure I could cope with the Nevada heat though. Our British heat wave is plenty hot enough for me with my pale skin!

    1. Thank you. I know, it was pretty damn hot but it's amazing how quickly you adjust to it and the air conditioning everywhere is excellent. But to be on the safe side, go from Oct-April - much cooler!

  2. Soooo jealous that you went to Las Vegas Caroline!!
I went a few years back and stayed at the Mirage, it was utterly incredible and even at an age that I couldn't fully 'enjoy' Las Vegas, it really is an gem you just have to visit.
(Looking banging in a bikini too I must say!)
Can't wait for the next posts :)

  9. I didn't know you were staying at Aria - did you like it? We stay nowhere else, ever, since it opened. LOVE it!!

I DESPISE summer and the heat, hence the reason we go to Vegas every December. I would die in their summer heat. :/

    1. I love Aria! It's our second stay there and they didn't disappoint this time round either. Although Alex stayed in The Cosmopolitan and I have to admit the rooms were really nice and spacey - I might have to give there a chance next time.

I actually adjusted to the heat quite well. Probably because I was so sick of the cold in England, anything would do!
