Sausages, Sauerkraut and the new kitchen

Bodo Schloss has been open a while now and has built up quite an impressive reputation as one of London's most trendy yet 'playful' places to spend a night out. For those who don't know, it's an Alpine ski-themed restaurant/bar/nightclub in the not-so-cheap hotspot that is Kensington. There's a pretty good chance you'd find yourself partying here with the cast of Made In Chelsea. Or Prince Harry.

The inside is designed to look like an Austrian ski lodge. There are skis hanging on the walls, the waiters and waitresses wear lederhosen and the DJ booth is a cable car. You can even drink massive cocktails from bobsleighs! Perfect for when you're on the piste (comedy genius, me). Beth and I had booked a table in the restaurant which guarantees you entry to the disco it turns into when the tables are whisked away after 11pm.

We settled at one of the gingham adorned tables and talked sausages. We decided to order between us the Bodo's House dumplings with Nurenberger sausages and sauerkraut along with the Mixed Sausage Platter - a five Austrian sausage selection.

The food here is perfectly nice. The dumplings were really good and the sauerkraut was authentic although I'd say some of the sausages were a little on the tough side. Still, it's decent enough food to chomp on whilst you prepare yourself to dance the night away.

After the food, it was camera away and on to the disco. It's definitely a fantastic venue to party although sadly my wallet felt quite a lot lighter the next morning!

On Friday I showed you my new living room and now here is the before & after of the kitchen; an important room for me as this is where I work! The room was very grey and I wanted to add a real splash of colour as well as incorporate that brick wall look that I love so much.

This is what it looked like before...

And here it is now...

Somehow the room looks so much bigger now than it did before!

And they purpose built me a cabinet for my work fridge along with all my cookery books and cake decorating materials.

I'm one happy baker!

  6. That place looks amazing, as do you! I'm putting that on my London list.
I can't believe what you've achieved in your kitchen. I had to take a second look and yes, they are all the same appliances and yet it looks so different. Amazing.
