February in Vegas - Part I

People tell me I'm a bit obsessed with Vegas but I've got no idea what they're talking about. I mean I've only been here six times in five years and I'm visiting just the two times this year!

Well, perhaps they have a point.

Las Vegas might not be everyone's cup of tea but for me, it's a place that never gets boring. It's an adult's playground full of spectacular shows, fantastic restaurants, stunning decor, shopping, exciting night-life and warm weather all year round. This is the final stop for Alex and I and the perfect place to end our holiday. We're staying in the beautiful Cosmopolitan Hotel and our room is fabulous!

To me, Vegas is glamour. The interior design of many of the hotels and bars is breathtaking.

The diamond encrusted car above used to belong to Liberace. Imagine driving down to Sainsbury's in that baby!

The dining options are endless in Vegas. We'd heard good things about a restaurant in our hotel called Jaleo so that was our first port of call. As you flick through the drink and tapas menu on the iPad, you realise it's going to be no easy job deciding which sharer dishes to order. We ended up ordering about eight or nine plates between us including some wonderful Spanish mini burgers and traditional chicken fritters...unusually, served in a shoe!

There's a great choice of shows to see in Vegas. Having visited as many times as I have, I've ticked quite a few off the list already but a show I hadn't yet seen was Cirque Du Soleil's 'One'.

I've always loved Michael Jackson's music and although the acrobatics weren't the best I've seen from Cirque Du Soleil, the incredible soundtrack made it a show worth seeing for any Jackson fan.

We woke up the next morning to a gorgeous blue sky.

It's not as boiling hot as it often is in Nevada; about 18 degrees. We headed off to see the sights that still thrill me as much as they did on my first visit back in 2009 - the year Alex proposed to me here

I petted some pooches...

...then we headed to the Forum at Caesar's Palace to do a spot of shopping.

I didn't buy much but I did treat myself to a few nice little purchases from Victoria's Secrets having won a few extra dollars from a $20 bill on the slots the night before!

Good old Vegas!

Part II coming soon!

  1. I've actually never been to a show nor shopping whilst in Vegas. I'm usually there for a birthday weekend or a bachelorette party, which means days at the pool and nights in the club. But one of these days C and I will have to go for a more quiet getaway together. Great pictures, by the way. The Cosmopolitan is by far my favorite hotel there.

  2. OK, we feel the same way about Vegas! I go about 1-2 times per year since 2008 and my husband proposed to me in Vegas too :)

Love your pictures! Especially the ones of The Cosmopolitan ... the sparkle never gets old.

  3. Oh how fun is the city! Being as I live here in Las Vegas, I love seeing people fan over the idea of "The Strip." Many don't realize there are schools and colleges and Wal-Marts here! ;) And living here, we don't really think about a ton of shops, crazy fancy dining, and casinos lined up on one street in the middle of the valley. I plan on doing weekly "tourist" trips so check out my blog in the next few weeks and maybe you'll find something you can do next time you're here! :)

  4. I've never been but am dying to make the trip and this has certainly made me want to even more .. I think I'd love it!

  5. Makes me want to go back! My sister goes once a year, sometimes twice. They got engaged and married there so they love it!

We stayed at Bellagio so I was always popping to the Forum shops for abit of Juicy and VS shopping :)

  6. I'm sooo with you on the love for Vegas, its like my perfect playground! Again we're there for honeymoon in July, though Mr Silver will be there in a month for his stag...do I feel a Hangover coming on??

Thanks for the tips on the Michael Jackson show, we went to La Reve last time and this time I was thinking O or Love. Have you been to either of those?

I'm sure you've already been but last time I was there we loved dinner at Mix at the Manderlay Bay hotel, fantastic food and views. Have you had a chance to check out the Nobu hotel too? That's also on my list for our trip in July.

    Looking forward to part II!!!

    Lots of love,

    1. My hubby had his stag do in Vegas - it's the perfect place really!

I'm seeing La Reve this evening, funnily enough! I definitely preferred Love to O (Alex actually fell asleep during O which made me giggle). Both are amazing but we love the Beatles music too so it definitely pushed Love in our favour. I loved the Elvis Presley Cirque too, shame they ended that. Defo go see Absinthe if you haven't already!

I've not eaten at Mix actually, might have to give it a try next time :) Hoping to have a nose at the Nobu hotel today

  7. i found las vegas exhausting in the summer...my pale skin just couldn't come with the heat! have you tried the buffet at Caesars palace? amazing!!

  8. I am so jealous, I've been dying to go back! I love both your outfits here, especially the second one. You look Vegas-sexy but super classy at the same time, not an easy feat.

We were going to stay at the Cosmopolitan last time but changed our minds last minute, I think I need to plan another trip just to stay there and check out their rooms. That's a good excuse, right?

  9. I happen to love Vegas too. And I too sometimes feel alone in my love for the city. I guess you either hate it or love it. Love these pics!

  10. Love, love, LOVE Vegas! You know we go every December and, to us, it never gets old. We do things like go into the mountains and out to the dessert, which is not typical Vegas. I could NEVER handle the heat in the summer out there. NEVER.

Oh, and you need to mention that Prada Saffiano you're toting about. :)

  11. Looks like you had so much fun in Vegas! So happy you're enjoying your vaca :)

  12. I've never been to Las Vegas, but I have always had it in mind that I will someday.
It's not a priority on my list but it's definitely somewhere I'd like to see at least once. It does look so fun but I am a sucker for natural beauty and culture shocks on holiday!

  13. It's obvious how much you are enjoying yourself. I agree, Vegas is wonderful, a Disneyland for grown ups. We were there in November and I can't believe how much fun we had. We were only there 3 days and now I wish it had been much longer, I loved it. We were excited to have won $60 but you're kicking ass! Enjoy every minute Caroline, I know you will. It's great to see you having such a great time. Priceless.

  14. Wohoo! Go you on your win! Missy how hot do you look in that white dress? Your legs are a mile long! I'm loving all your holiday outfits especially!

  16. Every one of these photos made me want to hop on a plane to the US.
The bars look incredible… The sparkly crystal sheets draped are beautiful, I think only a place like Las Vegas could pull this off.
