Cocktails At The Sanderson

It was a ladies cocktail night. With our sunny break in Rhodes on the horizon, Laura and I needed a good venue for which we could throw on some fabulous high heels, sip some glamorous drinks and talk holidays. "How many bikinis are you taking?" "What factor sun cream do you use?" "Is it okay to have a glass of wine in the airport lounge before midday?".

All these questions needed to be dealt with and tonight the stunning Sanderson Hotel was our host.

(The answer to that last question is definitely "yes", by the way. Especially if you're a bit scared of flying like me...)

This was my third visit to the Sanderson. I've been here to taste the sweet delights of the Mad Hatter's Afternoon Tea as well as using restaurant Suka's great breakfast to pick me up mid-jet lag. I hadn't yet sampled their cocktail menu though. Time to put that right, I thought.

I love the atmosphere at this hotel. It's elegant and rather glamorous yet it has a real air of fun at the same time. There are always groups of excited ladies enjoying their tea and cakes or a few drinks pre-hen night. Also, I've always experienced an extremely friendly service which no doubt helps encourage a return visit.

My feet were dressed up pretty in pink tonight (you can find the shoes here) and just as I'd almost finished studying the cocktail list, another very fabulous pair arrived!

Welcome Laura's Kandee Shoes! Who needs black or nude when bright and quirky does it so much better!

We were seated in the Courtyard Garden. The Long Bar inside was bustling so it was nice to have somewhere a bit more laid back to catch up. It was a mild evening but the heaters above us kept us warm when the temperature dropped.

We spent a good few hours that evening talking all things holidays, work, blogging, life - generally putting the world to rights; all whilst enjoying some wonderful cocktails. It's clear to see that a lot of thought goes into the Sanderson's extensive menu and they were all lovingly presented to us.

I was particularly fond of the Bakewell Champagne - fresh raspberries shaken together with Disaronno and finished with Thienot NV Champagne. Delicious.

Do I look a  little like the cat that got the cream here?

Well, to be fair, I was in my element! The blog ain't called Cocktails & Caroline for nothing!

Here's to sun, sea and many Greek salads in Rhodes! Just a few days to go...

  4. I need to try the cocktails here, I took a guy friend not long ago but we hadn't booked. When we arrived, there was no space anywhere and we didn't fancy the bar so gave up on our quest :(

Lovely drinks and you two both look stunning as usual. I'm infatuated with Kandee Shoes!

    1. Yeah, the Long Bar was pretty packed when we arrived too. Luckily we had a seat outside where it was a little less hectic.

I know, Kandee Shoes are amazing!
